The Medchal constituency in Hyderabad has always been dominated by the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party. However, this time the Congress party has nominated Thotakura Vajresh Yadav to challenge the BRS.
Yadav’s political journey began in 1988 when he became the president of the Shivaji Youth Club. He later joined the PrajaRajyam Party in 2009 and then the Telugu Desam Party in 2014, where he contested for the Medchal seat. In 2018, he joined the Congress party and eventually became a leader. In 2019, he was appointed as the OBC vice-chairman by the INC. In 2022, he became the Medchal constituency coordinator.
Yadav has used his position to serve his community within the boundaries of the law. He spoke to The Hans India about the issues faced by the constituency voters, such as the lack of proper transport facilities and the presence of only one outdated government hospital. As a result, locals are forced to spend large sums of money on treatment at private hospitals. Additionally, despite being a hub of private colleges, there is no government college in Medchal.
Yadav is relying on his party’s six guarantees and is focusing on reaching out to marginalized communities. He criticizes the ruling party for making unfulfilled promises over the past decade. Yadav believes that if the Congress comes to power, they will ensure the implementation of all development activities in the constituency.
