Former Medchal MLA Malipedhi Sudheer Reddy is expected to leave the BRS party and join the Congress party. TPCC chief Revanth Reddy will visit Sudhir Reddy’s residence today to invite him.
Sudheer Reddy won the Medchal MLA seat for BRS in 2014 but did not receive the ticket again in the 2018 elections. Malla Reddy, who was a Member of Parliament at the time, was chosen as the candidate instead. Malla Reddy won the election and became part of the cabinet.
This led to a rift between Malla Reddy and Sudhir Reddy for the past five years, with both leaders openly criticizing each other. MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy tried to address Sudhir Reddy’s concerns by securing a position for him within BRS.
However, with the upcoming 2023 elections, Sudheer Reddy has decided to seize the opportunity presented by the Congress party. He believes that staying with BRS will not allow him to regain his MLA seat or establish a strong presence in the constituency. Sudheer Reddy also has a relationship with PCC President Revanth Reddy.
It is reported that Sudhir Reddy will only join the Congress party if he is given an assembly ticket.
