    The University of Hyderabad (UoH) held its 23rd convocation ceremony on Friday. A total of 1,745 students received their degrees at the ceremony. Among them were 295 Ph.D scholars and 166 gold medal recipients who were recognized for their excellent academic performance.

    Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan, who served as the Chief Rector of UoH, addressed the students and encouraged them to realize their potential. She emphasized the importance of continuously developing their skills in order to succeed in various fields such as writing, politics, science, acting, or even becoming a governor.

    UGC Chairman Professor M Jagadesh Kumar also spoke at the ceremony. He urged the graduating students and scholars to contribute to the growth of the country, which is projected to become the world’s third-largest economy. He emphasized the need for young people to play a vital role in addressing the challenges that come with this growth.

    UoH Chancellor Justice L Narasimha Reddy motivated the graduating students and scholars to strive for personal success. He emphasized that their individual achievements can have a positive impact on the nation.

    Additionally, five young faculty members were honored with the Chancellor’s Award. They were recognized for their exceptional contributions to teaching, research, and the overall life of the university. The recipients of this award were Dr Rahul Kumar, Dr N Sri Ram Gopal, Dr Swati Ghosh Acharyya, Dr Murali Banovath, and Dr P Murugan. Each of them represented different schools within the university.
