Muslims in various parts of Hyderabad took part in anti-Israel protests to show solidarity with Palestine after Friday prayers. During one protest, a group of female students were detained by the police just five minutes after the demonstration began. They gathered near the B R Ambedkar statue near Tank Bund, holding a placard that said “Long live Palestine” and chanting slogans against Israel’s bombardment of Gaza. The police escorted the protestors away in a police vehicle as they continued to denounce Israel.

The police stated that the protest did not have permission, and this was the first protest in Hyderabad since the conflict between Israel and Palestine started. The police also arrested Abul Majeed, the President of the Democratic Justice Society.

In addition to this protest, the Students Islamic Organisation Hyderabad held demonstrations at different locations in the city, including Ujale Shah Dargah in Saidabad. Local residents joined in, tearing the Israeli flag and shouting anti-Israel slogans to condemn the ongoing strikes against Palestinians. The protesters criticized the silence of Islamic countries and called on the United Nations to take action against Israeli aggression.

Meanwhile, at Masjid-e-Ek Minar in Kothapet and other mosques, the Israeli flag was pasted at the entrance, and people were walking through it as a symbolic act.
