Marking World Arthritis Day celebrations at SVS Medical college in Mahabubnagar, Minister Dr V Srinivas Goud highlighted the importance of raising awareness about arthritis and the role of healthy living in managing the condition.
Arthritis, which used to affect mainly people aged 50-60, now affects individuals as young as 35-40 years old. Dr Goud emphasized the need for early detection and preventive measures to combat the increasing prevalence of arthritis. He urged healthcare providers to educate the public about ways to prevent knee pain, such as through dietary guidance and medications.
The minister also called for consistent public awareness programs on arthritis and expressed his commitment to making Mahabubnagar a leader in the medical field. He encouraged researchers at SVS Medical College to collaborate with Hyderabad to establish advanced treatment facilities, aiming to attract doctors from around the country and abroad.
Dr Goud also praised the transformation of Mahabubnagar into a clean and green city, attracting interest from various industries and establishments. The Amararaja Lithium Giga industry at Divitipalli IT-Energy Park is expected to provide employment opportunities for 10,000 people, and a new food park will create thousands of additional jobs.
