The ACB special court in Vijayawada has given permission to the Andhra Pradesh CID to issue a Prisoner in Transit (PT) warrant for former Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu in the APSFL scam case, also known as the fibernet case.
The CID has been directed to bring Naidu to court on Monday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Naidu, who is currently in jail for the Rs 371 crore skill development scam, will appear before the judge on Monday.
The PT warrant in the fibernet case means that Naidu might be remanded for 14 more days in judicial custody and not less than two days in police custody if the CID files a custody petition for five days to question Naidu in the APSFL case.
The ACB court agreed with the argument of CID counsel Vivekananda that the government was acting with vengeance and trying to prolong Naidu’s time in jail. Naidu’s lawyers in the Supreme Court may also use the PT warrant to support their argument of “regime revenge” by the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy Government.
