Healthcare experts from SVS Medical College celebrated World Mental Health Day on Tuesday. They emphasized the importance of being aware of mental health issues and staying stress-free for a healthy life. As part of the event, medical students from the Mental Health department participated in a poster presentation competition to raise awareness about the challenges faced by people with mental health and psychological problems. They also performed a flash mob dance to spread awareness about schizophrenia and discourage superstitious beliefs like black magic.
Dr. Ashok Reddy, the head of the department, highlighted the importance of mental health, stating that it is equally important as physical health. He emphasized the need for early diagnosis and effective treatment. The celebration was attended by SVS College principal Dr. KP Joshi, Resident Director Ram Reddy, Gynaecology department professor Dr. Jayanti, and others.
