The BRS leadership in Warangal has resolved a conflict between its leaders in the Jangaon and Station Ghanpur constituencies. Muthireddy Yadagiri Reddy and Thatikonda Rajaiah were replaced by Palla Rajeshwar Reddy and Kadiyam Srihari. This decision comes after the BRS faced difficulties in finalizing its candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections.
Despite efforts by BRS working president K T Rama Rao to mediate, Muthireddy and Rajaiah were initially unwilling to leave their constituencies. However, they eventually agreed to a compromise offered by the leadership. Muthireddy has been appointed as the chairman of the TSRTC, while Rajaiah has become the president of the Rythu Bandhu Samithi.
Rajaiah has had a strong hold on the Station Ghanpur constituency since 2009, winning four elections. Muthireddy, on the other hand, won the Jangaon seat in 2014 and 2018. Both Kadiyam and Palla Rajeshwar Reddy are dependent on the support of the sitting MLAs. Despite winning three times in Station Ghanpur, Kadiyam needs Rajaiah’s support.
Palla, who has been aspiring for a prominent role in active politics, has finally been given permission by the BRS leadership to contest from Jangaon. Although his candidacy has not been officially announced yet, Palla has already started campaigning in the constituency, despite opposition from Muthireddy. A meeting was held on Tuesday with key leaders of the Jangaon constituency, where KTR convinced Muthireddy to cooperate with Palla, bringing an end to the uncertainty.
