Junior residents in Hyderabad are facing financial difficulties and decreased morale due to delayed payment of stipends. They have demanded that the government ensures stipends are paid between the 5th and 10th of every month. The Junior Doctors Association President, Dr. P Kaushik Kumar, stated that irregular and delayed stipend payments are causing significant hardships for many junior residents. The doctors want a more structured and efficient system for disbursement of stipends, suggesting that cheque numbers for stipends be cleared within the specified time frame to ensure regular monthly payments. This would provide predictability and assurance to junior residents. The process involves departments sending attendance to the principal office, which then transmits it to the DME office, followed by the Pay and Account office sending token numbers to the Finance department.
