The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) will be operating 5,265 special buses from October 13 to 24 for the Bathukamma and Dasara festivals. This is an increase of 1,000 buses compared to last year. A meeting was held with the police and Transport department officials to discuss preparations for handling the passenger rush during the festivals.
The TSRTC MD, V C Sajjanar, expressed gratitude for the support and cooperation of the Police and Transport departments during festivals. He assured that all arrangements are being made to ensure a smooth journey for passengers. Special buses will be available from Hyderabad and Secunderabad to various destinations in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Maharashtra.
To handle the passenger rush, special camps will be set up at different localities and officials will be appointed based on the number of passengers. Volunteers will also be present to provide information to passengers. Passengers are encouraged to use the ‘Gamyam’ mobile app to track bus details and avoid traveling in vehicles with white registration plates.
Details about advance reservations for special buses can be found on the TSRTC website and through the call centre numbers: 040-69440000, 040-23450033. Officials from Hyderabad City Traffic police, Transport department, and TSRTC attended the meeting.
