The Department of Life Science at NIT-Rourkela organized the Third International Conference on “Frontiers in Biological Sciences” from October 5 to 7. The conference had 35 reputed scientists participating, including two international scientists from Texas A&M University, USA and Iowa State University, USA who joined virtually.
During the welcome address, Prof Bismita Nayak, Head of the Life Science Department at NIT-R, expressed that the conference brings together brilliant minds from diverse backgrounds to share knowledge and advance our understanding of the biological world for the benefit of humanity and the planet.
Dr Amulya Kumar Panda, Associate Director of Panacea Biotec Ltd, New Delhi, mentioned that our body is a well-designed subject for research. Exploring the mysteries of the human body is an ongoing process that leads to more questions and opportunities for discovery. Conferences like these provide a platform for improving healthcare, developing new treatments, and enhancing our understanding of what it means to be human. Life science is not just about analyzing organisms but also about appreciating the beauty, diversity, and fragility of life itself.
Prof K Umamaheshwar Rao, Director of NIT-R, who was the patron of the conference, highlighted that our body is still evolving and there is much about life that remains unknown. This conference will provide direction for future advanced research and uncover undiscovered aspects of life.
Overall, the conference aimed to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among scientists in the field of biological sciences.
