The election excitement is building up in Telangana state. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the state for the second time in two days, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will come on October 10. The BJP plans to announce its list of candidates next week. Meanwhile, Ministers K T Rama Rao and T Harish Rao are touring the state. The Congress party is going door to door with its six-guarantees card. Speculations are circulating that officials from the Election Commission of India are here to review the government’s preparedness.

These fast-paced political developments are putting pressure on the heads of the three parties – BRS, Congress, and BJP. BRS faces the challenge of ensuring victory for its candidates and overcoming the negative impact of anti-incumbency. Most of the sitting MLAs have already been announced as candidates. The Congress party has a ready list but fears rebels who may upset their plans. The BJP, which has slipped in popularity, is yet to announce its candidates and may do so in the second week of October.

Reports suggest that recent restrictions imposed on techies protesting the arrest of Chandrababu Naidu could impact about 24 constituencies with a large population of Andhra settlers. Additionally, KCR has received feedback about people’s dissatisfaction in certain constituencies where MLAs have failed to fulfill promises and complete pending projects. In response, KCR has sent MLAs to these constituencies to take corrective measures or risk losing their candidacy.

TPCC president Revanth Reddy has advised against announcing the list of candidates for now to avoid problems with rebels. He believes that BRS may attract some of these rebels, causing damage to Congress candidates in strong constituencies. The TPCC is confident of winning about 40 constituencies. Over 1,000 ticket aspirants are eagerly waiting for the candidate list. Some who don’t make it may leave Congress and join BRS. The BJP faces difficulties in finding strong candidates, especially in certain districts.
