    Thousands of Muslims in Hyderabad held a grand procession to celebrate Prophet Mohammed’s birth anniversary, also known as Milad-un-Nabi. The procession was rescheduled to Sunday to promote communal harmony and respect for other religious festivals. The Muslim community in Hyderabad observed Milad celebrations throughout the month of Rabi-al-Awwal. This year, the procession was delayed for three days.

    The atmosphere during the celebrations was festive and filled with religious fervor. Muslims expressed their reverence, respect, and commitment to the teachings of Prophet Mohammed, whom they consider a blessing for humanity. On September 28, Muslims celebrated Eid with indoor prayers, followed by various processions and rallies on October 1.

    The city was beautifully decorated and illuminated with lights, colors, and banners bearing messages about the Milad-un-Nabi celebrations. The old city became a hub of Islamic Naats and Qawwalis in honor of Prophet Mohammed. Thousands of Muslims, especially youngsters, participated in the Milad rally organized by the Markazi Milad Juloos Committee. The procession started from Dargah Quadri Chaman in Falaknuma and ended at Mecca Masjid near Charminar.

    After prayers at Mecca Masjid, the procession continued through various areas of the city and concluded at Moghalpura. Hyderabad Commissioner CV Anand and DCP (South) P Sai Chaitanya supervised the procession at Charminar and commended the city’s plural culture. Religious scholars and distinguished figures led the procession with great joy.

    During the celebrations, people distributed sweets, snacks, juices, water, and food. Relics of Prophet Mohammed were displayed at various locations in the city. Muslim organizations also organized blood camps and public meetings to coincide with the Ganesh immersion festivities.

    Overall, the Milad-un-Nabi procession in Hyderabad brought together Muslims from all walks of life to celebrate Prophet Mohammed’s birth anniversary with enthusiasm and harmony.
