The cancellation of Vistara Flight UK747, operating from Kolkata to Port Blair, and the return flight UK787 on September 30, 2023, was due to bad weather in Port Blair. Vistara announced that it would operate extra flights on October 1, 2023, to help passengers stranded in both cities.

To make room for these additional flights, Vistara had to cancel one of its flights from Delhi to Kolkata and back. This decision was made to prioritize the affected passengers.

Trinamool Congress leader Derek O’Brien mentioned the flight cancellation in relation to his party’s planned protests in the national capital. He expressed concerns about the abrupt cancellation of special train services and the flight cancellation, emphasizing his party’s determination to address issues regarding funds owed to Bengal by the BJP Union government.
