The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Manoj Pande, stated that the strong response of Indian troops against Chinese forces in the Galwan valley standoff gained international attention for India’s political and military determination. Pande made these remarks at the annual meeting of the PHDCCI.
Pande also mentioned China’s growing economic influence and its tendency to view geopolitical and trade agreements as a competition. He emphasized that China’s aggressive behavior extends beyond its own region and poses a threat to rule-based organizations.
Additionally, Pande praised India’s stance on the Russia-Ukraine conflict, highlighting how the country stood firm in addressing its national interests. He pointed out the positive outcomes of India’s participation in various bilateral and multilateral alliances and agreements, such as the International Solar Alliance, Global Bio-fuel Alliance, Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure, and trade agreements.
