The national party BJP has formed a 26-member election committee to oversee the upcoming elections in Telangana. The committee includes five union ministers, party State in-charges, and leaders from other States. Former Andhra Pradesh BJP chief Somu Veerraju and party senior leader P Vishnu Kumar Raju are also part of the committee.

The committee will be attending the Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting, which will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, party president JP Nadda, and other members. They will discuss prospective candidates for the upcoming elections in Telangana, Rajasthan, MP, and Chhattisgarh.

The CEC meeting is expected to finalize the party’s electoral strategy. The party will classify Assembly seats into four categories based on vote share and past performance. They have already identified Assembly segments falling under certain Lok Sabha constituencies and segments where they had previously obtained a considerable voting percentage.
