Scores of top leaders joined the Congress party in the presence of AICC president, Mallikarjun Kharge. Among those who joined were Malkajgiri MLA, Mynampally Hanumantha Rao and his son Rohith, former Nakrekal MLA, Vemula Veeresham, former Bhongir DCC president Kumbam Anil Kumar Reddy, and former BSP leader Nakka Prabhakar Goud. The event took place at Kharge’s residence in Delhi, with other important figures such as Manikrao Thakre, A Revanth Reddy, and Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy in attendance.

Mynampally resigned from BRS to ensure his son gets a chance to contest from the Medak Assembly constituency. He also facilitated another opportunity for his close aide Prabhakar Goud, who had previously contested from Medchal on the BSP ticket in 2018, to contest from Congress this time. Anil Kumar, who recently met with PCC Chief A Revanth Reddy, is hopeful of contesting from the Bhongir constituency after returning to the party within two months. Veeresham, who was overlooked by BRS, has his sights set on contesting from Nakrekal on the Congress ticket in the upcoming Assembly polls.
