Mahbubnagar: The Agriculture Minister, Singireddy Niranjan Reddy, visited Wanaparthy district to inspect the arrangements for the upcoming visit of IT Minister K Taraka Rama Rao. During his visit, the Agriculture Minister highlighted the development initiatives taking place in the district.
One of the major achievements mentioned by the Minister was the completion of Mission Bhagiratha works in Wanaparthy constituency. This project, costing Rs 425 crore, focused on utilizing every drop of water in Telangana soil. Additionally, over 1,500 double bedroom houses were built in Wanaparthy town and distributed to the poor and those affected by road expansion. The construction of Suravaram Sahitya Kalabhavanam (Town Hall), costing Rs 5.75 crore, was also mentioned as a cultural hub for the people.
The Minister also announced plans for future developments in the district. These include the construction of an IT tower, a supermarket, and an integrated market for vegetables, non-vegetarian items, fruits, and flowers. A library, named after Suravaram Pratap Reddy, will be established with both print and digital resources. The Minister also mentioned the inauguration of a Rs 76 crore bypass road and construction of Pebberu road costing Rs 48 crore.
To mark his visit, the Minister released a book titled ‘Wanaparthy Pragati Prasthanam.’
