Hyderabad: BRS Chief K Chandrashekar Rao plans to appoint in-charges in every constituency to monitor the candidates and their campaign activities leading up to the elections. Party MLCs, general secretaries, and secretaries will be responsible for tracking the candidates’ progress in their respective constituencies. They will provide daily reports on the candidate’s activities, such as meeting people and managing expenses. The in-charges will report to senior leaders who will then inform KCR.

The party has previously used the in-charge system during by-elections, where it proved successful in winning the Munugode seat from the BJP. In-charges played a crucial role in gathering crowds and persuading voters to support the party.

The main objective behind this system is to keep candidates motivated and active throughout the campaign. In-charges can also identify any anti-incumbency sentiment among voters and bring it to the attention of party leaders for resolution.

Ministers will also have additional responsibilities during the election. Along with their own constituencies, they will oversee constituencies where the party needs more focus. They will need to allocate time for campaigning and address any issues that arise during meetings with voters. Ministers have previously served as in-charges during Council elections.

The party is expected to appoint in-charges by the end of this month. In-charges will provide updates and guidance from party leadership to the candidates. Their role is crucial as KCR has indicated that candidates who do not meet expectations may not receive the B-form. Candidates should now be cautious and actively engage in their campaigns as they will be closely monitored by the in-charges, according to a BRS leader.
