Eight individuals have been arrested by the I S Sadan police in Hyderabad for their alleged involvement in the kidnapping and murder of a former home guard over a financial issue. The police seized a car, two motorcycles, and eight mobile phones.
The arrested individuals include Khaja Nayeemuddin (54), who had previously been involved in two criminal cases, Mohammed Saleem (40), Khaja Fareeduddin Quadri (24), also known as Chor Fareed and previously involved in 18 criminal cases, Mohammed Fahad Khan (31), Dappula Hari Prasad (28), known as Babloo and involved in four criminal cases, Gulam Mohammed Khan (29), who is involved in a criminal case, Mohammed Abdul Rahman (33), Mohammed Akbar Hussain (40). Salahuddin is currently on the run.
According to DCP Ch Rupesh of South East, the victim, Md Rizwan (30) from Santoshnagar, was kidnapped on September 11 by Saleem and others. They took him to AC Guards in a car and confined him in a building where they beat him, causing injuries. Rizwan passed away in the hospital on September 18.
Rupesh explained that Rizwan had borrowed Rs 33 lakh from Saleem on different occasions but had been delaying repayment. When Saleem failed to retrieve the money, he sought help from Nayeem and Fareed, who planned to kidnap Rizwan and collect the money from him.
After the kidnapping, Rizwan was kept in a building where he was beaten. The next day, he was taken to his house in a car and then brought back to the same place. On September 13, Rizwan’s father transferred Rs 1 lakh to Khaja and another Rs 1 lakh to Naveen Goud’s account through Phonepe. With a total of Rs 2 lakh and a promise of further payment within two days, Rizwan was released. However, due to his serious injuries, he was hospitalized and later died.
Based on a complaint, the police registered a case and arrested the eight individuals. They will be produced in court, and efforts are underway to apprehend Salahuddin.
