Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of Telangana inaugurated nine medical colleges in the state. Previously, there were only five medical colleges, but now there is one medical college per district. The chief minister referred to this as the “white coat revolution” and said that it will act as a protective shield for Telangana.
Chandrashekar Rao expressed pride in the health sector of Telangana, stating that it serves as an inspiration for the rest of the country. He mentioned that rulers in the past believed that people from Telangana couldn’t govern, but now the state is seen as a role model. In addition to the medical colleges, nursing colleges will also be established in all districts.
The newly inaugurated medical colleges are located in Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Karimnagar, Kamareddy, Khammam, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Nirmal, Rajanna Sircilla, Vikarabad, and Jangaon.
Health Minister T Harish Rao praised the chief minister for starting nine medical colleges in a single day, a first in the country’s history. He recalled that eight medical colleges were opened last year. Harish Rao congratulated the students who joined the courses on Friday.
