Telangana State BJP president Kishan Reddy has ended his hunger strike after being offered lemon juice by senior BJP leader Prakash Javadekar. Reddy had initiated a 24-hour hunger strike on Wednesday morning at Indira Park in Hyderabad, accusing the state government of neglecting the unemployed during its nine-year rule.

However, the police intervened and stopped the strike on Wednesday evening as the allotted time had expired. This led to a confrontation between the police and BJP workers, resulting in Reddy falling down when taken into custody. He was later taken to the BJP office in Nampally.

The BJP’s protest against unemployment issues has caused tension in Telangana. The initiation by Kishan Reddy, who is also a Union Minister, was disrupted by the police near Indira Park. He was subsequently taken to the party office, where he continues his protest.

It is reported that Amit Shah, a prominent BJP leader, spoke to Kishan Reddy to inquire about the events of the agitation and the arrests made by the police. In response to Reddy’s protest, the Telangana BJP is planning demonstrations in district and mandal centers on Thursday and has called for a bandh against the state government.

Reddy’s 24-hour fast at Indira Park Dharna Chowk caused tension as he accused the KCR government of deceiving the unemployed over a period of nine years. The police informed Reddy that his initiation was allowed until 6 pm on Wednesday and requested him to vacate the camp immediately.

During his detention by the police, Reddy sustained minor injuries to his hands and chest. He fell unconscious, and doctors recommended an X-ray for his chest wounds. Amit Shah later spoke with him expressing his frustration over the disruption of their peaceful protest. Many activists showed their support for Reddy at the BJP party office.

It appears that Reddy will undergo tests at the hospital following the completion of his 24-hour protest.
