Excise and Prohibition Minister Dr V. Srinivas Goud stated that the Palamur Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation project will bring an end to the famine and poverty that the people of Palamuru have been experiencing for the past 60 years. The motors of the project will be switched on by Chief Minister KCR on September 16. This project, launched in 2015, will provide drinking water to all villages and irrigation water to over 12 lakh acres in the region.
During the previous Congress and TDP governments, no leader from the region took the problems of the people to the rulers. Many ministers even ridiculed the idea of bringing Krishna River water to Palamuru due to the mountainous and high altitude terrain regions in erstwhile Mahabubnagar. However, Chief Minister KCR was committed to transforming Palamuru into a green belt and successfully completed over 90% of the PRRLI project in just 8 years.
The Minister welcomed around 100 people, including Congress minority leaders, who joined the BRS party. He emphasized that people are attracted to the BRS party because of its development and welfare programs, unlike the BJP and Congress who create divisions among people based on religion, caste, and region. The BRS party aims to treat all sections of society equally and do justice to all.
The Minister urged BRS activists and party leaders to work hard for the upcoming elections and fight as soldiers to build confidence among the people and expose false propaganda from opposition parties. Municipal vice-chairman Ganesh, former market committee chairman Cherukupalli Rajeshwar, and other party leaders participated in the programme.
Lastly, the Excise Minister distributed Kalyana Laxmi and Shaadi Mubarak cheques worth more than Rs. 50 lakh to beneficiaries.
