Hyderabad: The President of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), A Revanth Reddy, questioned the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s silence on the issue of ‘One Nation One Election’. Reddy alleged that the Chief Minister’s silence could be seen as approval, as he is in a “tacit understanding” with the saffron party.

Reddy made these remarks during a media interaction at Gandhi Bhavan. He claimed that the Chief Minister has always supported simultaneous elections for both the Assembly and Parliament. Reddy also alleged that the ruling party will back the Bill related to ‘One Nation One Election’, citing their support for other Bills tabled in Parliament.

Reddy demanded that the Chief Minister clarify his stance on the issue and prove him wrong. He pointed out that in 2018, KCR had written in support of ‘Jamili elections’ to the Union government. Reddy warned that implementing ‘One Nation One Election’ could endanger the country’s democracy.

Furthermore, Reddy criticized the appointment of former President Ramnath Kovind as the head of the panel, stating that none of the ex-Presidents were involved in a politically motivated decision-making committee.
