The Hyderabad Airport Metro Limited (HAML) is moving forward with the phase 3 project. They have chosen consulting agencies to prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for this phase. The agencies will have two months to complete the Preliminary Project Reports (PPRs).
After a competitive bidding process, five agencies submitted their proposals. Aarvee Associates, Systra, UMTC, and RITES were selected as technically qualified to take on the task. Aarvee Associates received the highest technical score and had the lowest financial bids, so they were awarded two packages. Systra, the second-highest technical scorer, received the other two packages after matching the lowest financial bid.
The selected agencies will prepare the PPRs within two months. The DPR will cover various aspects such as traffic surveys, travel demand forecasting, ridership estimates, alternative options analysis, and recommending suitable modes of public transport. It will also include details about the metro rail alignment, stations and depots, electric traction, signaling and train communication, coaches, environment and social impact assessment, transit-oriented development, last-mile connectivity, cost estimates, fare structure, financial analysis, and project implementation plans.
NVS Reddy, Managing Director of HAML, has directed the agencies to begin field surveys simultaneously across all designated corridors.
