Telangana’s DGP Anjani Kumar has made a significant impact in policing since taking charge in December last year. The police played a key role during the recent heavy rains, maintaining law and order and addressing white collar crimes. The government praised the police for their efforts in rescuing people from flooded areas. Anjani Kumar closely monitored the situation and implemented a strong feedback system, using social media platforms and teleconferences to stay connected with officers.
With the upcoming Assembly elections, the DGP emphasized the importance of district police officers in ensuring a smooth and secure election. He stressed the need for adequate manpower and instructed officers to collaborate with agencies like the Income Tax and GST departments. Anjani Kumar also attended a meeting conducted by the Election Commission.
To improve user-friendliness and efficiency, Telangana Police integrated the CEIR portal with the TS Police Citizen Portal. This allows citizens to report lost or missing mobile devices without having to visit MeeSeva or police stations. Telangana has already achieved the highest percentage of recovery for lost or stolen mobile devices using the CEIR portal.
The DGP’s meticulous planning and coordination with police officials ensured adequate security during various events, including the unveiling of the country’s largest statue of Dr BR Ambedkar, the new State Secretariat, martyr memorials, and CM’s public meetings during the inauguration of district SP offices.
