Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has announced a special gift for MahilaSanghamSahayakulu (Village Organisation Assistants- VOAs). Their salaries have been increased to Rs 8,000 per month, starting from September. This decision will benefit 17,608 VOAs working across the state. The government will spend an additional Rs 106 crore for this salary increase.
Minister T Harish Rao, along with Cabinet colleagues ErrabelliDayakar Rao, Sabita Indra Reddy, and Satyavathi Rathod, met with VOA representatives to inform them about the salary increase decision. In addition to the salary increase, the Chief Minister also agreed to allocate Rs 2 crore annually for uniform dresses for the VOAs. He also decided to renew their job contracts on a yearly basis instead of every three months.
In response to the request for life insurance, the Chief Minister has instructed Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli to study the relevant regulations and submit a report.
