    Hyderabad City Police Commissioner, CV Anand, held a video conference with traffic officers to improve traffic flow and road safety. The conference focused on the Traffic Action Plan, which aimed to address the increasing traffic volumes and vehicle numbers in the city.

    During the conference, CP Anand emphasized the importance of effective traffic management through the “4 Es” framework – Engineering, Education, Enforcement, and Enablement. He motivated the officers to work proactively, as their duty directly affects the lives of citizens.

    All traffic station house officers (SHOs) were instructed to develop one model junction in their respective areas. The conference also emphasized the coordination between engineering efforts and the state government’s infrastructure projects to improve traffic flow.

    Enforcement against all types of road violations was highlighted, with special drives targeting life-endangering infractions. The conference also focused on increasing enforcement capabilities by doubling the number of cranes across all traffic police stations and implementing the ROPE initiative for the removal of obstructive parking and encroachments.

    Constructive dialogues with stakeholders such as school administrations, RTC officials, and auto unions were recognized as important for the mission’s success. The welfare of staff officers was prioritized through the adoption of body-worn cameras, periodic medical check-ups, the introduction of traffic umbrellas, and monthly recognition and rewards.

    Enforcement of parking norms, data analysis, continuous training for staff, and the use of pelican signals were also discussed during the conference. Senior officers were instructed to lead by example and use rain gear, cones, bullets, and other necessary equipment.

    Overall, the conference aimed to create a comprehensive Traffic Action Plan that would enhance traffic management and road safety in Hyderabad.
