YS Sharmila, the president of YSRTP, was put under house arrest by the police after she went on a tour to Gajwel in support of the victims who protested against Dalit Bandhu. The police did not allow her to go to Gajwel, so she surrendered and asked to be let out. However, the police refused, so she stayed at her residence and started protesting.

Sharmila expressed her anger at the behavior of the police and questioned their actions. She asked if the police had arrested BRS party leaders in Gajwel, and stated that opposition leaders should be allowed to fight for the people. She criticized the government for having too much power and compared it to the Taliban.

She stated that she is the child of the former chief minister and will fight on behalf of the people. She received a letter from the villagers of Thigala asking for her help, and she planned to go there and listen to their sufferings.
