The state government in Hyderabad is concerned about the lack of interest from applicants for liquor licenses in districts. To address this issue, they have decided to send special officers to hold meetings with people in industries such as real estate, pharma, and textiles. The purpose of these meetings is to explain the state government’s excise policy and encourage more participation in the bidding process.
In a review meeting of the Excise department, the Excise Minister announced several measures to make it easier for people to apply for liquor shop licenses. They have set up an application reception center in the Excise Commissioner’s office in Hyderabad as well as in each district. The minister also instructed officials to take strict action against anyone involved in forming a syndicate to manipulate the application process. Transparency in the allotment of liquor shops is a priority.
The minister has directed District Collectors to pay special attention to the low number of applications in their respective districts and investigate the reasons behind it. To facilitate the application process for SCs and STs, self-affidavits will be accepted if there is no caste or agency certificate.
If applicants face any difficulties in submitting their applications, they are encouraged to contact local Excise Department officials or call the toll-free number 18004252523 for assistance.
