A new Agricultural Data Exchange (ADeX) was launched in Hyderabad, marking an important milestone for Indian agriculture. ADeX is a digital platform developed by the Government of Telangana, World Economic Forum, and the Indian Institute of Science. It aims to provide a fair and efficient way for the industry and startups to access agricultural data and contribute to the data economy in the agriculture sector.
The launch event was attended by Minister KT Rama Rao, who also introduced the Agriculture Data Management Framework (ADMF). He emphasized the significance of these initiatives in driving food systems transformation and improving the livelihoods of farmers. Telangana aims to lead the country in utilizing innovation and technology to benefit the agricultural sector.
ADeX is a software platform that enables the secure exchange of data between agricultural data users, such as agri application developers, and agricultural data providers, including government agencies, private companies, NGOs, and universities.
The launch event was attended by Professor Rangarajan, Director of IISc, Telangana IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, and other officials. M. Raghunandan Rao, Secretary of the Agriculture Department, Ramadevi Lanka, Director of the Emerging Technologies Wing, and J. Satyanarayana, Chief Advisor of the World Economic Forum, also participated.
