Huzurabad MLA and BJP State Election Management Committee chairman, Etala Rajender, criticized Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for lacking faith in the legislature bodies. He pointed out that the Assembly budget sessions this year were only held for 11 days, and the monsoon session was only three days long, including a day of condolences. Rajender expressed concern that this suggests there may not be any more sessions during the current government’s tenure.

Rajender highlighted that the Assembly sessions used to last around 65 days a year in united Andhra Pradesh. He emphasized that the assembly and Parliament are crucial platforms for discussing issues and finding solutions in a democracy.

However, under KCR’s regime, Rajender argued that the legislature functioning has deteriorated. He claimed that MLAs’ roles have been reduced to staying in villages and using the police and officials to harass and imprison opposition party members through false cases. Rajender urged the people of the State to consider how the government is functioning under KCR.

Furthermore, Rajender criticized the Speaker for not inviting the BJP to Assembly Business Advisory Committee meetings. He expressed disappointment at the Speaker denying an office to BJP in the Assembly and not allowing opposition parties, especially the BJP, to voice their opinions on various issues. Rajender questioned why the MIM party was given opposition status despite being called a friendly party by the CM. He argued that the ministers only respond promptly when issues are raised by the MIM, creating the perception that the government prioritizes resolving MIM’s concerns over those of the BJP.

Rajender called on the people of Telangana to reflect on such behavior from the ruling party and MIM. He interpreted the Speaker’s remarks on the last day of the session as not only signaling the end of the current government’s term but also as a farewell meeting for BRS and KCR. Finally, Rajender demanded that the government announce a compensation of Rs 10 lakh for the families of those who lost their lives in the recent floods.
