Osmania University in Hyderabad has launched Osmania TV, a satellite TV channel that will broadcast high-quality teaching and course content for undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as students preparing for competitive exams in Telangana. The channel will air content recorded by the university’s professors via the T-SAT network. An MOU was signed between Osmania University and T-SAT for the creation of the channel. The university has developed over 700 lectures, each of half an hour, which will be transmitted through Osmania TV. The lectures will also be available on the newly launched Osmania YouTube Channel. The channel aims to provide information to areas without internet access and is open to students across Telangana. The content includes subjects like Geography, Biology, and Physics. The university has also received funding from the University Grants Commission for the Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMRC) under the MOOCs program. The lectures from this program will also be telecasted. All the lessons will be uploaded on Osmania TV’s YouTube channel for students who miss classes. Additionally, there will be interactive sessions with professors and industry experts.
