The state Congress party’s political affairs committee, chaired by AICC general secretary K C Venugopal, met in Hyderabad on Saturday. They emphasized that if party leaders continue their internal conflicts and fail to set aside their differences like Siddaramaiah and D K Shiv Kumar did in Karnataka, the party will not be able to come to power in Telangana.

During the meeting, Venugopal stated that there were only 100 days left and if leaders still wanted to fight, the high command couldn’t do much. He also remarked that if a government is formed, it would be the party leaders who become ministers, not those from Delhi.

Venugopal indirectly referred to the activities of four leaders and advised them to focus on their respective districts instead of interfering in others. A former PCC president argued that since they have followers in neighboring districts, they should also take care of their interests. However, Venugopal disagreed with this argument.

He instructed the PCC to form mandal committees within 15 days. He also mentioned that the internal differences within the party were minor issues, but they were being magnified due to the ego of certain leaders. The AICC would soon appoint observers for the elections. Venugopal advised PCC president A Revanth Reddy to ensure that all leaders are involved and work as a team.
