A meeting took place between Cyberabad police commissioner, Stephen Raveendra, and Ramesh Kaza, secretary general of SCSC (Society for Cyberabad Security Council). The meeting aimed to address the issue of traffic congestion in the region. Industry experts from the IT & ITeS sector came together to discuss and devise effective strategies for streamlining traffic.
During the meeting, Stephen Raveendra emphasized the importance of collaboration between the police and the IT industry. The main goal of this joint initiative is to reduce employee commute times. Representatives from prominent IT organizations proposed several innovative measures, including staggered work timings, spreading employee attendance evenly throughout the week, promoting carpooling, and allowing some staff to work from home.
Organizations such as Cap Gemini, Cognizant, TCS, HSBC, JP Morgan, Deloitte, ICICI Bank, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Virtusa, Hysea, and others actively participated in the meeting. Their contributions were highly appreciated as they formed the foundation for practical traffic management solutions.
Ramesh Kaza praised the role of SCSC in organizing such interactive sessions and urged organizations to explore innovative approaches to reduce the number of cars entering the IT corridor. His suggestions included promoting carpooling, enabling remote work for non-customer roles, implementing flexible work timings, and designating large IT parks as transportation hubs.
The meeting was attended by senior police officers, including Joint Commissioner of Traffic Narayana Naik, DCP Traffic 1 Harshavardhan, DCP Traffic II Srinivas Rao, DCP Madhapur Sundeep, ACP Ravinder Reddy, and other traffic officials.
