    The state government of Hyderabad has decided to improve the public transport system due to the city’s rapid growth and expansion. Minister K T Rama Rao announced a proposed metro rail corridor that will cost around Rs 60,000 crore and cover more than 101 km between the international airport and Kandukur around ORR. The government also plans to develop the Hakimpet Air Force station as a second airport for civil aviation.

    The cabinet of ministers ratified the names of D Sravan and K Satyanarayana as MLC candidates under the Governor’s quota. KTR expressed hope that Governor Tamilisai Soundarajan will approve their names without any political obstacles.

    The rejected bills on Education, Panchayat Raj, and Municipal Administration by Governor Soundarajan will be reintroduced in the Assembly. KTR alleged that the Governor system is being exploited for political reasons.

    Other decisions made by the cabinet include the establishment of a Horticulture College in Mahabubabad, an allocation of Rs 1,800 crore for 2,000 beds in NIMS, pensions for beedi contractors, allocation of 253 acres of land for Warangal airport, and the establishment of eight more medical colleges in the districts. This milestone will make Telangana the first state in the country to have a medical college in every district.

    The cabinet also discussed the impact of rains on agriculture, the flood situation, and the damage caused by floods. They decided to release Rs 500 crore as relief.
