Congress holds protest at GHMC headquarters, urges assistance for residents affected by heavy rains

Telangana Congress held a rally and protest at the GHMC headquarters, demanding assistance for the rain affected residents in the city. Tension rose when police and Congress party workers clashed, resulting in the arrest of party leaders. The Congress workers were stopped from entering the GHMC office and raised slogans against the government’s failure to rescue those in submerged areas. Party leaders demanded immediate relief measures and criticized State Minister KTR for his claims about Hyderabad becoming a global city. They demanded Rs 10,000 as immediate relief for each family and questioned why MLAs and ministers were not taking action. Some party leaders managed to enter the GHMC premises and submit a memorandum, while others protested before GHMC Commissioner Ronald Ross for not allowing the Congress to stage a sit-in.
