Senior BJP leader and former vice-chairman of NDMA, Marri Shashidhar Reddy, criticized the decision of the BRS government in an attempt to win over Muslim minorities in Telangana. He called this move highly condemnable and stated that it was merely a ploy for the upcoming 2023 elections. Reddy believes that this is electoral bribery and the Election Commission should intervene to prevent unfair advantages. He accused the government of committing fraud against the minorities of Telangana, which reinforces his belief that KCR is a habitual fraudster.

Reddy highlighted the disparities in the implementation of GO 78, which was issued on July 23. The Minorities Finance Corporation requested assistance of Rs 1 lakh per minority candidate, similar to the assistance provided by the BC Welfare department under GO 5 issued on June 6. However, he criticized the BC Bandhu scheme for being unfair, selective, and a mere election gimmick. He pointed out that while the dates for receiving applications, processing them, and disbursal were mentioned, there was a lack of transparency in its implementation.

Furthermore, Reddy questioned the government’s commitment to minority welfare, citing the lack of specified dates for various steps till disbursal in GO 78. He questioned if the government has done anything beyond spending money on Ramzan gifts and food, which has not undergone any auditing process.

Overall, Reddy strongly criticized the government’s actions and emphasized the need for transparency and fairness in their approach towards minority welfare.
