A cyclonic circulation has formed over the west-central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The system is expected to become a low-pressure area in the next 24 hours. This will lead to an increase in rainfall in Odisha.
The IMD has issued a yellow warning for heavy rainfall in 10 districts of Odisha. These districts include Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangapur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, and Balangir.
The Meteorological Office predicts heavy rainfall across Odisha until July 28 due to the possible low-pressure area. A senior scientist at the Regional Meteorological Centre stated that the intensity of rainfall will start to increase on Tuesday.
