Recovery trial operations for the Gaganyaan mission have entered the second phase. The trials are being conducted at the Naval Dockyard in Visakhapatnam. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the Indian Navy are working together on these trials. They began on July 20 using a simulated Crew Module Mockup. This mockup is an important part of the testing process as it ensures that the recovery procedures accurately simulate real conditions.
During the trials, various stages of recovery were simulated. This included attaching the recovery buoy, towing, handling, and lifting the crew module onto the ship deck. These trials are an important step in preparing for the Gaganyaan mission.
