Former State BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar said on Friday that the Nizam of Hyderabad was portrayed as a benevolent ruler to hide the cruel realities of his regime. He released the poster of a film on Razarkar atrocities and stated that people aged 18-40 years, who make up 70% of the country’s population, are unaware of the dark past of Nizam’s rule. He emphasized that Nizam’s rule was vicious, with women being subjected to forced removal of nose rings, rape, stripping, and being made to dance to Bathukamma.

Bandi congratulated the film-makers for shedding light on these facts and mentioned the difficulties faced during the making of ‘Razakar’. However, the shooting of the film continued without interruption. He highlighted the comprehensive knowledge of Telangana’s liberation history possessed by former Maharashtra Governor Ch Vidyasagar, who played a key role in passing the Kakinada resolution for one vote and two states. Bandi also stressed the importance of celebrating Telangana Liberation Day on September 17.

Bandi alleged a conspiracy to misrepresent the Telangana movement and its history, with a twisted narrative being propagated by certain individuals who claim to be the sole torchbearers. He considered the film ‘Razakar’ as an attempt to showcase the real history and urged people to promote it widely through social media and watch it. He expressed hope that the success of the movie would inspire the creation of more historical films in the future, assuring the film-makers of his support for its success.
