    Hyderabad, July 9 (Namaste Telangana): The Vice-Chancellor of Telugu University, Kishan Rao, has suggested that new stories should be written in Telugu. He expressed the desire for stories to be treated as valuable assets. The Mulkanur Prajagranthalyam, in association with the “Namaste Telangana” daily, is organizing the awards ceremony for the National Short Story Competition. They have recognized the importance of the subject and praised the literature of the current stories.

    Film director Yelamdandi Venu stated that the value of stories has decreased in society. He emphasized that stories are the foundation of successful films. He believes that everyone should give importance to stories. The efforts made by Mulkanur Prajagranthalyam and “Namaste Telangana” in promoting literature and encouraging writers have been appreciated. The writers are encouraged to create works that attract modern youth and readers by addressing social issues with complete detachment and appealing to them in an entertaining way.

    The award ceremony held at the Telugu University Auditorium on Sunday was grand and dignified. VC Kishan Rao, Balaga Cinema director Yelamdandi Venu, and other dignitaries attended the event. Kishan Rao spoke about the current state of Telugu literature and praised the emerging literary works.

    Yelamdandi Venu said that the value of storytelling among writers in society has decreased. He explained that storytelling is the key to the success of films. He stressed that every writer should give importance to storytelling. Mulkanur Prajagranthalyam and “Namaste Telangana” have made great efforts to encourage and recognize writers by providing them with incentives such as cash awards, certificates, and appreciation letters.

    During the award ceremony, the late poet Alisetti Prabhakar was posthumously honored with the title of “Navakavitabhimanam” at the Anantapur Mulkanur Prajagranthalyam. They also presented a cash reward of Rs. 1 lakh to his family. The winners of the “Namaste Telangana” short story competition were also honored with awards. Humayun Sanghir won the first prize for his story “Iblis,” and he received a cash reward of Rs. 50,000, along with an appreciation letter and a memento. Kiran Vibhavari won the second prize for his story “Adavi Puvvu,” and Madderla Ramesh won the third prize for his story “Masuru.”

    The event was attended by Hanumakonda JDP Vice-Chairman Sudheer Kumar, Karimnagar JDP Chairman Ramakrishna Rao, Mulkanur Sarpanch Madugula Kondayya, Joint Inspector of Stamps and Registration Hyderabad Vemula Srinivasulu, Namaste Telangana Editor Bathukamma, Life Features Incharge Karanam Janardhan, writers, and literary enthusiasts in large numbers.

    The “Ishtagosti” (favorite conversation) among the writers took place from 2 pm to 5 pm on Sunday at Ravindra Bharathi Mini Hall. All the award-winning writers attended the program and expressed their happiness. They discussed their inspirations and the motivation behind their stories. They emphasized the need for senior writers to be vigilant in their storytelling and provide guidance to young writers.
