Sanath Nagar is a densely populated area in Hyderabad. It is known for its small and medium scale chemical, pharma, and industrial businesses, as well as residential colonies. Czech Colony is the largest residential colony in the area, with a history dating back to the Nizam era. This area is part of the Secunderabad Lok Sabha Constituency, and it includes landmarks like Sanathnagar, Ameerpet, SR Nagar, Padmarao Nagar, Monda Market, Balkampet, Pan Bazar, and General Bazar.
During the previous election in 2018, Talasani Srinivas Yadav of the BRS party won the seat by defeating Kuna Venkatesh Goud of the TDP. Yadav received 66,464 votes, while Goud got 35,813 votes. The BJP candidate, Bhawarlal Varma, received 14,274 votes. In the 2014 election, Yadav won on a TDP ticket with a margin of 43,186 votes against BRS candidate Dande Vithal.

In the 2014 election, Yadav received 45.27% of the votes, Dande Vithal received 23.26% of the votes, and Marri Shashidhar Reddy received 19.09% of the votes.
