    Secunderabad: The Ujjaini Mahankali Bonalu festival in Secunderabad is being celebrated with grandeur. Devotees in large numbers are thronging to offer prayers and make offerings to the goddess Mahankali at the Ammavari temple in Tarnaka. Devotees are queuing up for darshan of the goddess. Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, along with his family, visited the temple and offered Bonam to the goddess. Minister Malla Reddy performed special rituals for the goddess along with his family members. Similarly, Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav’s family also presented a silver Bonam to the goddess.

    Despite the massive turnout of devotees, the government has made special arrangements to ensure smooth functioning of the festival. Coolants and prasadams are being distributed to those waiting in queues. MLC Kavitha also visited the Mahankali temple to seek blessings. Offerings are being made to the goddess. Adequate security measures have been put in place for smooth conduct of the prayers at Ayappa Nagar Kaman.

    The Ujjaini Mahankali Bonalu is an important festival celebrated in various parts of Telangana, particularly in Secunderabad. The festival is dedicated to the goddess Mahankali, who is believed to be the protector of the city.
