The government has activated all the pumps in the Kaleshwaram Lift irrigation project to address the water crisis caused by low rainfall. During a meeting, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao instructed officials to prepare for the adverse seasonal conditions and ensure enough water for drinking and irrigation. The Pranahita river has started flowing, providing inflows to support the Kaleshwaram project. The Medigadda barrage has received water, and pumping operations have begun. Once the inflows from the Pranahita river continue, concerns over water supply will decrease. Water from the Kaleshwaram project will also be pumped into the Sriram Sagar project if needed.
