India has summoned the Canadian High Commissioner in New Delhi because of propaganda material being spread in Canada. The material includes posters that threaten Indian diplomats. India has also formally protested to Justin Trudeau’s government. On Monday, India expressed concerns about the threats to its diplomats through posters circulating in Canada. These posters provide information about a pro-Khalistan rally scheduled for July 8. The targeted individuals are the Indian ambassador to Canada, Sanjay Kumar Verma, and the Consulate General in Toronto, Apoorva Srivastava. Sikh extremists are believed to be responsible for spreading the posters, accusing Verma and Srivastava of involvement in the assassination of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a designated terrorist, in Canada.
In addition, there is a rally planned to honor Harjit Singh Nijjar, also known as Hardeep Singh Nijjar. He was a militant associated with Khalistan and was deliberately shot and killed in Surrey, Canada on June 18.
