The State government in Hyderabad has set a deadline for this weekend to finish distributing Podu land pattas to tribals. Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari has instructed district collectors to speed up the distribution process so that beneficiaries can receive financial assistance under the Rythu Bandhu scheme during the Vanakalam season.
In a video conference with the collectors, the Chief Secretary reviewed the progress of Podu patta distribution, as well as other issues such as the Gruhalakshmi scheme, fertilizer and seed availability, Telangana ku Haritha Haaram, financial assistance to BC artisans, sheep rearing, and construction of gram panchayat buildings.
Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari emphasized the need to upload bank account details of Podu farmers on the Rythu Bandhu portal. She also stressed the importance of coordination among the Revenue, Police, and Forest departments to prevent further deforestation.
Regarding fertilizers and seeds, Santhi Kumari stated that the State has sufficient stock and collectors should monitor the situation daily to ensure availability in districts. She also encouraged farmers to consider oil palm plantation and find innovative ways to convince them to take it up.
For Haritha Haaram, the Chief Secretary urged collectors to prioritize pitting work due to limited rainfall. Plantation can be done once rains begin, with a focus on Haritha Vanaalu and Dasabdhi Sampada Vanaalu. She also requested a critical analysis of suitable areas for plantation, considering saturation in most areas.
Santhi Kumari instructed collectors to verify all applications received for financial assistance to BC Artisans Scheme at the field level. Additionally, she emphasized the completion of 4,852 gram panchayat buildings that were recently sanctioned.
