Telangana Minister Satyavathi Rathod reviewed the progress of the Sri Sammakka Saralamma Maha Medaram Jathara, which is scheduled to take place from February 21 to 2025. During the meeting held on Monday, various officials were present to discuss the implementation of basic amenities for the devotees attending the event.
The gathering was attended by prominent personalities such as Nag Jyothi, Chairperson of the JDP Chair; Satish Reddy, Chairman of Redco; Ankit, ITDA Project Officer; Ashok Kumar, OSD; Govind Nayak, Chairman of the Library Board; Palli Buchayya, District President of the Farmers’ Association; Amira Sitaram Nayak, former MP from Mahbubabad; and Jaggaravu Taditara, the priest of the Sri Sammakka Saralamma Temple.
Also present at the meeting were Dr. Appayya, District Medical Officer; Venkayya, DPO; R&B Venkatesh; Dilip, Panchayat Raj; Hemalatha, Tribal Welfare; Venkayya, Panchayat Officer; Sreepathi, Fisheries Officer; Sardar Singh, Cooperative Officer; Poacham, Deputy Director (TWW); Prema Latha, DWO; and representatives from various departments.
The main agenda of the meeting was to discuss the necessary arrangements to be made for the devotees during the Maha Medaram Jathara. Minister Satyavathi Rathod urged all officials to ensure that basic amenities such as drinking water facilities, healthcare services, sanitation facilities, and accommodation are provided to the devotees.
The officials were instructed to coordinate with different departments and work together to make the event a success. The Minister emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness and hygiene at the Jathara site and urged officials to make necessary arrangements for waste management.
During the meeting, the officials also discussed the transportation arrangements and security measures to be taken during the Jathara. The Minister instructed the concerned authorities to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and adequate security at the event venue.
The Sri Sammakka Saralamma Maha Medaram Jathara is one of the largest tribal festivals in Telangana, attracting millions of devotees from all over the country. The festival is held every two years in honor of the goddesses Sammakka and Saralamma, who are believed to fulfill the wishes of their devotees.
With the Minister’s guidance and the coordination of various departments, it is expected that the upcoming Maha Medaram Jathara will be a grand success, providing a memorable experience for all the devotees attending the event.
