Pending Bills for Farmers at Trident Sugar Factory to be Cleared, Orders Minister Harish Rao

Hyderabad: The state Minister for Finance and Health, Harish Rao, has ordered the immediate clearance of pending bills (Due Bills) for farmers at the Trident Chakker Factory. On Sunday, at the Minister’s office in Hyderabad, a review was conducted with MP BB Patil, MLA E Malla Reddy, State Sugar Cane Commissioner, District Collector Sharath, and SP Raman Kumar.

It has been reported that the Trident Sugar Factory in Kothur village in Sangareddy district owes farmers Rs. 12.05 crores for the sugarcane harvested in the previous season. Despite assurances given in June to clear the dues, the factory has not yet paid the farmers. It has been decided to immediately settle the pending bills owed to the farmers. According to the Revenue Recovery Act, if the dues are not cleared on time, the factory assets can be seized and used to pay off the pending bills.

The state government is working towards resolving the issues faced by sugarcane farmers. It has warned that if negligence continues, the factory’s license will be revoked, and legal action will be taken. It has been emphasized that bills should be paid on time and in writing. In this meeting, the Chairman of the State Handloom Corporation, Chintaprabhakar, Chairman of DCMAS, Shivakumar, Chairman of CDCC, Umakant Patil, Sugar Cane Officer of Sangareddy District Rajasekhar, RDVO Venkat Reddy, and representatives from various departments were present.

With the pending bills being cleared, it will help ensure timely payments and support the financial stability of the farmers in the region.
