The Telangana Government has announced that employees and pensioners will receive an increase in advances, allowances, and incentives under the existing Pay Revision Commission. The Finance Department issued the orders on Friday, a day after Telangana Formation Day celebrations ended.
The increase in advances will help employees with house building, purchasing a car or two-wheeler, and paying for their children’s marriages. Traveling and conveyance allowance for employees has also been increased by 30 percent, including for those moving to a new place of posting.
For all India services officers working in the state, the ceiling for house building advance is now Rs 35 lakh. The limit for buying a four-wheeler has been increased from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 9 lakh, while for two-wheelers, it has been raised from Rs 80,000 to Rs 1 lakh. The ceiling for marriage advances has also been raised to Rs 4 lakh for daughters and Rs 3 lakh for sons.
Policemen working in certain departments will receive special pay according to the 2020 payscale. There is now immediate relief provided in case of death of pensioners, which has been raised from Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000. An additional 15 percent special pay has been granted to all categories of employees performing duties in the Protocol department.
Lift operators and drivers working on holidays will receive an additional Rs 150, while the special compensatory allowance has been increased by 30 percent for employees working in Scheduled Areas. Conveyance allowance for disabled employees has also been raised from Rs 2,000 to Rs 3,000. The advance ceiling for building or purchasing a house or flat is based on basic pay and ranges from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 30 lakh.
